A piece of art for Museo del Volley
Modena, 7 March 2011 - The great adventure of the World Cup in Modena ended a few months ago, but memories and emotions are still alive. Modena has been at the center of the international volleyball for 5 days, showing its passion and ability to host an event like this. Today at Museo del Volley the C.O.L. (local organising committee) donated to Antonio Panini one of the pictures that Wainer Vaccari made especially for the World Cup in Modena. The picture was originally part of Vaccari's "Elevation" exhibition, a proof of the possibility to combine together arts and sports to show emotions and expressions.
In this picture, handed by Andrea Giani (president of C.O.L.) over to Antonio Panini, one can admire the outlines of Giuseppe Panini and Franco Anderlini, both modenese, two founding fathers of volleyball in Italy.
This piece of art will be permanently exhibited at Museo del Volley.
The Pallavolo Modena team and managers
23 February 2011 - Cristian Casoli admires himself, when only 18 years old, on a poster showing Jeff Stork's Milan team, and in a video of the Coppa Italia final in 1997 between Cuneo and Modena; Yuri Berezhko watches the images of the great Dinamo Moscow in the '90; Daniele Bagnoli looks back at his many successes and all of the Modena players admire the champions that made (and are still making) the history of volleyball. It's been a real emotion for Casa Modena to visit Antonio Panini's Museo del Volley. The players thoroughly watched the shirts, videos and trophies, in a place that is unique to the world, a museum that could only have its origins in Modena, the cradle of volleyball in Italy. It's fascinating to see so many objects narrating tales of athletes and men. National championships, World Cups, Olympic Games: a wonderful treasure. Captain Angel Dennis donated a Casa Modena shirt to the museum, while the other players promised to bring shirts and trophies from their former clubs and national teams.
